    Summary of Position
    Supervise the feature film post production process with the goal of a technically flawless final product delivered on time and on budget. Facilitate between the vendors of choice and Pixar departments (e.g., Image Mastering and Editorial). Apprise Producer, Associate Producer, Production Manager and Distributor of major schedule, budget, and technical issues related to post production.

    Responsibilities
    Supervise

    • Supervise timely delivery of all elements needed for film and digital theatrical exhibition.
    • Partner with Director of Photography and Image Mastering Manager to plan and execute color grading and recording of theatrical deliverables.
    • Supervise color timing sessions at film lab.
    • Supervise previews and other pre-release screenings, including film festivals.
    • Supervise music recording sessions and mixdowns.
    • Co-supervise with Supervising Editor all mixes.
    • Responsible for QCing optical tracks to ensure quality.
    • Supervise release printing. Responsible for QCing show prints for special event screenings.


    • Partner with Post Production Manager to make best use of available resources.
    • Partner with Editorial Managers, Supervising Editors and First Assistant Editors to deliver working reels and cutlists as needed for sound mixes, output, etc.
    • Partner with Trailer/International Manager to assure smooth flow of elements as needed.
    • Partner with Distributor to ensure good communication and smooth flow of elements as needed.
    • Partner with Exhibitors to assure that Pixar releases are presented at the highest possible quality.

    Schedule

    • Author and update the post production schedules and deliverables tracking database with Post Production Manager.
    • Schedule all temp dubs, final dubs, ADR sessions, foley, music spotting sessions (i.e., book mix stages, schedule directors’ time, run playback reviews).
    • Schedule all sound effects, dialog, and music spotting and review sessions.
    • Partner with Producers and Production Managers to schedule Directors’ attendance at locked reel, print and sound post review time.

    Budget

    • Partner with Producers and Production Accountants to plan and track Post Production budgets.
    • Negotiate vendor pricing.
    • Manage day-to-day decision making related to Post Production budget.

    Qualifications
    Qualifications
    Minimum five years practical operational, scheduling, and budgeting experience for film, video, and audio in a feature film post production environment.
    Good under deadline pressure. Multi-tasking. Works well independently and with others.
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
