AVerMedia Information, Inc. (www.avermedia-usa.com) is the leading manufacturer of digital multimedia products. We are seeking a bright and responsible individual to fill our Product Manager position.
Responsibilities:
Product Management
• Coordinates product planning & product life cycle management with our overseas Headquarter Product Development team to ensure appropriate product roadmap and specifications, development schedules, goals, design criteria, costs & price setting to meet the defined market and customer segments
• In-depth understanding of hardware and software product lifecycle management and experience with developing detailed software design specifications
• Conduct market research, business & competitive analysis on a needed basis
• Drive the collection of customer insights from customer support, onsite visits and analytics.
• Ability to analyze and communicate complex business factors, product design and technical issues effectively verbally and in writing among overseas and local teams
• Prepare Marketing Requirements Documentations (MRDs)
• Participate in the QA process to ensure the final product meets the market and customer segments
• Provides product training, technical support and trouble shooting to outside sales, account managers, education development execs, product trainers, tech support team and potentially certain customers via phones, emails and on site visits.
Strategic partner development
• Lead all aspects of partner sourcing development – prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing.
• Establishing, and owning relationships with external technology partners
• Define, develop and lead execution of launch plans for new product introductions, product updates, and channel strategies
• Working with Engineering and QA teams to deliver the required solutions on schedule
• Assisting product marketing with new sales tools, including collateral, white papers, presentations, web content, and other customer and channel communications
• Develop business cases and interface with marketing groups, R&D, sales, and management teams
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of direct product management experience in either enterprise portal software, software services, or educational tool software
• Solid Internet technology skills with background in education verticals a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities as well as work well in teams
• Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts
• Ability to apply analytical tools to market/business analysis
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and cultural skills to effectively and professionally work with coworkers, partners and customers
• Understanding of the latest trends and players across online video, digital media and the internet
• Undergraduate in technology (CS/EE) desired. Background in human computer interaction or product design a plus.
